Mary Dodd M.Ed, LMHC Candidate

My ideal client is an athlete, high-performing individual, Type A person or couple struggling to balance external success with internal well-being. On the outside, they may appear driven, accomplished, and composed—but internally, they may be experiencing performance anxiety, emotional burnout, relationship stress, identity confusion, or difficulty managing the pressures that come with constantly striving to succeed.

Many of my clients are used to being the strong one. They are high achievers who push through challenges, often at the expense of their own mental and emotional health. Whether navigating life transitions, injury, burnout, relationship difficulties, or uncertainty beyond their role or performance, they are seeking a space where they can be authentic, supported, and understood.

My approach goes beyond quick fixes or surface-level motivation. I provide personalized support that combines evidence-based therapy with performance-focused strategies to help clients strengthen emotional resilience, build confidence, and reconnect with themselves both on and off the field.

I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) to help athletes, high performers, and couples develop practical coping skills and healthier thought patterns. Together, we focus on creating individualized strategies that support emotional wellness, improve performance, and foster long-term growth.

My work integrates mental health support with performance coaching to help clients:

  • Manage stress and anxiety

  • Improve confidence and emotional resilience

  • Navigate transitions and identity challenges

  • Strengthen relationships and communication

  • Build balance between achievement and well-being

I understand that reaching out for support can feel intimidating—especially when you’re used to carrying everything on your own. My goal is to create a space where you feel heard, supported, and free from judgment.

Together, we’ll work toward helping you feel more grounded, confident, and connected to yourself. You don’t have to navigate these challenges alone. Healing and growth are possible, and you deserve support along the way.

If you’re ready to take the next step, I’m here to help.
