Amanda Weintraub, LICSW

I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker who has provided psychotherapy to children, adolescents, adults, and families across the life spectrum for over 10 years. My therapeutic style is warm, engaging, and dynamic. I believe that healing from anxiety, depression, PTSD, complex trauma, and other chronic or acute symptoms can happen within a collaborative and attachment-based therapeutic relationship. Transformative healing is possible, and it is an honor to support my clients on each of their unique journeys.

My approach to therapy is largely based in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I specialize in trauma-focused work and use EMDR to help clients process distressing experiences, reduce the emotional intensity associated with painful memories, and move toward meaningful and lasting change.

EMDR Intensives

In addition to traditional weekly therapy, I offer EMDR Intensives for clients who would benefit from longer, more concentrated periods of trauma-focused treatment. Intensives allow us to dedicate extended time to a particular experience, symptom, or therapeutic goal rather than stopping at the end of a traditional therapy hour.

EMDR Intensives may be appropriate for individuals who have experienced trauma, PTSD, anxiety, difficult life events, or persistent patterns that continue to interfere with their daily lives. They can also be an option for clients who have already participated in therapy but feel there is a specific issue they would like to address more deeply.

Intensives can be scheduled as extended sessions or multiple sessions over a shorter period of time, depending on the client's individual needs and treatment goals. Before beginning an intensive, we meet to determine whether this approach is clinically appropriate and develop an individualized treatment plan.

As a fundamental principle of my practice, I recognize that each client brings unique strengths and expertise to our work together. Treatment is collaborative and individualized, with the pace and direction guided by each person's needs and goals.

I am deeply passionate and committed to understanding how culture, identity, socioeconomic factors, and systems of privilege impact my clients' experiences. I value diversity and inclusion and welcome clients of all ages, races, sexual orientations, genders, identities, and beliefs.
